Skyler's Kintergarten Progress Report

We met with Skyler's teacher, Ms. Krey, yesterday and she had wonderful things to say about our super kid!

Here is what the written report says:

"Skyler is making tremendous progress in reading, writing and spelling. it's so much fun to see him discover all of the things he can do without much effort. Skyler likes math and is confident in his skills. his inquiring mind and sharp intellect make him an excellent scientist. I would like him to take on more responsibility for his taking care of his own things and cleaning up after himself. He continues to relate well to others and has leadership potential. He's lots of fun to be around!"

She told us that Skyler is reading at the level of a child that is half way through the first grade. And, that all of the work we do (reading, playing games, art, etc.) at home has made a big difference. He is a wonderful artist and has excellent fine motor skills. She said he has made good friends and treats others well (she said that he let another little boy that was feeling sad ring the bell even though it was Skyler day to do it and that he was super sweet about it) and has a kind heart and a wonderful gifted mind.

Matt and I are beaming! We are so lucky to have such a wonderful kid and we love him so much!

Grandma Judy visits, Zac eats first food

Ahmee came to visit, she got to play with Sky & Zac all weekend and Oh! Zac is so cute and so much fun. He started eating a little rice cereal (Judy & Skyler feed him his first meal) and he has his very first tooth showing through on the bottom. He's rolling over and back over again. He's just getting to where he can balance himself for a minute if you sit him upright (he keels over eventually but he doesn't mind). He's going to be crawling around in no time!!

Skyler and Ahmee read stories, played games, planted seeds in eggshells (peas, radishes and carrots) and had a great time hanging out. We all had fun and can't wait until we go to LA in April and see everyone!

Zachary's first tooth - 5 months and one week

Our little Zachary is getting so big!! he really looks like a bigger baby, holding his head up and scooting along the floor (not a crawl yet). He's getting his first tooth, one of the front bottom ones, and he's hardly fussed at all about it (though he is gnawing on everything he can get his hands on). He's really ready and wanting to eat. We've been practicing with a little spoon so when we add a little cereal he'll know what to expect.

Stuff

Skyler is getting big, strong, solid and heavy. Reading, spelling, questions all the time. Charming, and amazing.

Zachary can roll over and over, he is the cutest little guy. Oh what joy!

We are the luckiest people we can imagine!

btw- did we mention that we went to dinner at El Mansour, a Moroccan restaurant. We all had fun eating with our hands and clapping for the belly-dancer.

Zachary Chaikin - 5 months old!!

5 months!! I can't believe how fast the time goes. Zachary is doing great. He's rolling all over the place and loving his chew toys. Not teething yet, just drooling and chewing on everything. He's my little love, he goes all over with me and everyone that sees him remarks that he is a beautiful smiling happy little baby.

He pulls himself up when you hold his hands and he loves to look in the mirror and laugh at himself. Skyler makes him giggle and is his snuggle buddy. When his daddy walks in the room he gets the biggest smile of all.
