Happy Valentines Day!

We had such a sweet Valentines Day dinner - all three of us. I made steak, baked potatoes and asparagus. We lit red candles (set in sandbox sand from the backyard in foil containers - FYI mom, I could use some real candle holders if you have any old ones laying around) and Skyler thought that candles made it special. Matt put on sappy top 40 romantic music and we played a little Guess the artist - "Who is that?", "umm, Mariah Carey?" "no, I think that's Celine", and, "I know that is Journey" and, "Is that Air Supply", "Who names their band Air Supply?" Skyler begged to blow out the candles the whole time we ate, and was only allowed after he ate ALL his dinner (not just the veggies, but the meat too). I told him we could have movie night and watch a romantic love story so we are going to watch Shrek.

How sweet it is....

Where did that come from?

Addition. Skyler saw some flash cards and he asked if he could play with them. We told him they were math and addition and that they were for when he gets older (6 and up) but he said, "I do know math!" so we started to quiz him with easy math problems like 2 + 1, 2 + 2, 2 + 3, and he got them all right!

We don't have anything to compare it to so we don't know if other 3 year olds can do simple addition but we are very impressed with him. I say he's either a genius or he's done this before...
