I want to be a painter someday, or maybe a...

Skyler said that someday he wants to be a painter. I asked him if he wanted to paint buildings & houses or pictures and he told me that he wanted to paint ALL of it - EVERYTHING (with big sweeping motions of his arms). I said that would be great if he was a painter and that he had already started because he paints pictures all the time. Then he said, "No, I know what I want to do, I want to find dead." I said "Find dead, what kind of dead?" He told me that he wanted to find really BIG dead (again with the big sweeping arms). I said that maybe he would like to become an archaeologist or a paleontologist and find BIG dinosaur bones and fossils of things that died a long time ago. He said that would be great. I told him that if he studies and learns a lot in school that he could have a lot of fun finding dead someday! And yes, I will remind of this when he doesn’t want to do his homework!

Skyler's past

The other day while driving to school Skyler told me that he used to drive. I asked him when that was and he said a long time ago. He went on to say that it was scary because one time some mean guys were chasing him in his car and he had to drive really fast. He said that he went back to his store and then the guys were still trying to find him so he started driving again and the other car that was chasing him when over the edge and into the water. I said that sounded really scary and he said that it was scary but he was okay.

He doesn’t watch movies or shows with car chases and bad guys but you never know what stories kids are telling in school so I don't think this is conclusive evidence of a past life but I do think it's interesting. Another time he said that a long time ago he was a bird, a red bird…

Today at the park

In the morning you and I went to 18th Ave. Rec. center and had a great time. Then we picked up Ahme & Baba. They are visiting this weekend. We took them to the Metreon and Yerba Buena. You went down the big slide all by yourself. Then you went on the REALLY big slide all by yourself. I am so proud of you. You behaved so well all day. I promised you jelly beans, but the jelly bean store shut down. You handled it very well and didnt bring it up again. Very impressive. Mommy had a long day at work. Happy Earth day. Ahme made us a delicious dinner. Good night. Tomorrow it's breakfast at Sears and then to the DeYoung museum.

Good night. Daddy.

Easter Party at our house

The Easter Bunny showed up in the middle of the night and left a basket of goodies. We had a little Easter brunch Party and invited our friends Sharon, Jeff & their daughter Brodie and our new friends Nancy, her little boy Benito and baby Zoe who lucky for us just moved in down the street. It’s so nice for Skyler to have a friend his own age to play with and I have a great time hanging out with his mommy too. Nana came and everyone brought some food, the daddies hide Easter eggs in the backyard and kids had so much fun finding them all (almost all – I found a pink egg in a plant today). I got my wish and we had a sunny break in the rainy days we’ve had so we could all hang out in the backyard and enjoy some Easter fun.

Skyler developed a sweet tooth for Easter and with all of the candy around (school party, stores, etc.) I had to take the left over candy and dump it in the middle of the break room at my office – let them get the cavities and tummy aches.

We had a wonderful time hanging out with our like-minded friends (in a “we have children too” way I mean), it’s so nice to have cool mom’s to chat with.
