Disneyland Vacation 2007 , LA and Santa Barbara

Runs into the park and into the arms of Mickey Mouse!! Big smiles, Big hugs then off to Pirates of the Caribbean & Haunted Mansion (both rides that we did multiple times over our four day stay).

Skyler & Daddy do the BIG rides - our little boy is growing up - enough to go on the Matterhorn, Star Wars ride and Space Mountain with daddy!

Nana bought Skyler an autograph book so that all of the characters we meet can sign their names: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Buzz, Cruella De Ville - he was on a quest to meet each one.

Star Wars - Skyler goes to Jedi Training School! He got picked from the audience to come up on stage and learn to use a light saber (they teach the kids a little routine of moves and jabs). Then suddenly Darth Vader came up from the floor of the stage and Skyler was picked to be the first kid to battle Darth Vader who said, "the force is very strong with this one."

The heat, mom's big belly, lots and lots of smiles!!

Next stop Jules & Judy's house - Swimming, hanging out, good food and fun for a few days. Nice that it wasn't as hot as the days at Disneyland. Skyler loves to visit Ahmee & Baba!

Saturday morning we packed up the car (all of the gear for the new baby) and drove to Santa Barbara to see Danielle, Bob & Sequoia. Jules and Judy came and we all stayed at the Lemon Tree hotel. Danielle and Bob got a new house - a beautiful place with a great backyard. Sequoia is such a sweet little girl running around and talking.

Skyler and Sequoia played in the backyard with the hose, splashing and running around pouring water from one bucket to another. Then we went swimming in the most amazing salt water pool. Skyler's floaties and no tears warm water made for the most fun he's ever had in a pool.

Mother's Day - we all dressed up and went to brunch then said our good byes and drove home.

Great family vacation!

... do you read the New York times in the morning?

I took Skyler to the pediatrician to get the rest of his shots (yuck) so we could turn in his paperwork for kindergarten and Dr. Newell asked Skyler what he liked, he said "I like planets. Some people think that Pluto is isn't a planet anymore and that it's just a rock. I still think it's a planet so I'm still going to say we have 9 planets."

I know it sounded bazaar coming from a kid - it really did sound like he was channeling an older, opinionated adult. Dr. Newell was a little stunned then said "Wow... You are a remarkable kid, do you read the New York times in the morning?!"

I think Skyler told her that he ate breakfast and watched Curious George in the morning (he has no idea what the New York Times is).
