Happy New Year!
Or "Happy New New!" as we say now (that's how Skyler started saying it at 2 yrs., so we still do). Skyler and mommy threw poppers (little caps that explode with a BANG when you throw them at the ground) while Sky said "Happy New Year Universe!" and then Happy New Year to the moon, stars, and all of the planets (including Pluto, "because you are a planet"). It was loud but wonderful. Zac, who this time last year was our hope and dream for the new year, is a little young this time around to appreciate the fun and he slept threw the whole thing.
Skyler and I toasted in the New Year at 9:pm, we watched the ball drop (NY time), toasted with sparkling grape juice and ate 12 raisins (in Spain they eat 12 grapes at midnight - good luck for the next 12 months, but we didn't have grapes, we did have raisins through).
Our normal New Year's tradition is that Skyler would go to Nana's and they do the popping streamers and blowers and party hats, but Nana has a cold so Skyler and Zac are with mommy tonight. This is the very first New Years, since 1982, that Matty and I have not been standing together in a romantic New Year's Eve kiss at midnight (boo-woo), but --- so that my love gets to go to Bootie to DJ and play drums and make music (his passion), I'll snuggle the little ones (our passion) and we'll all be together for brunch on the first day of 2008! We are SO Lucky, and blessed, to have it all XOXOX
