Things that you do.
This is an amazing stage of development, both physically and intellectually for you Skyler.
Every few days you have a few new words. One right off the top of my head would be - everybody. And you really get the meaning of it too! You also ask a lot of questions like "Where are we going?" and say things like "Eat Shrek yogurt now, Daddy!" (green yogurt with a picture of Shrek on it), "Go play outside now bakaball (basketball)" and "Read Daddy!"
There are some things we just dont understand though. Like "deet" . We know it means "cold" when you say it, but we still cant figure out where it comes from. I hope you can shed some light on this in the future.
Right now you just tried to move something out of the way on the TV. I explained you cant move someone in the foreground out of the way to see something in the background. You wanted to see a big bird in Wizard of Oz, but Dorothy and the trees were in the way.
Songs like "Where is Thumbkin?", "Wheels on the bus", "Elmo's World" and "A,B,C" are some of your favourities to sing. Your favourite movies on DVD are Shrek (1&2), Snow White, Wizard of Oz, Chicago, Toy Story 1&2 (you call it "Buff 1" and "Buff 2" for Buzz Lightyear), Labyrinth, and James and the Giant Peach. And you are fascinated by any character that is mean. We think it's because that everyone is nice to little kids and someone who is mean is very different and interesting. At least we hope that's what it is.
Speaking of Buzz Lightyear. He may possibly be your favourite charcacter. Although Elmo is by your side more and he is actually much more lovable. You also enjoy Clifford the big red dog, Big Bird, blue & green (Grover & Oscar), Ernie, Bert, Woodie & Jessie (from Toy Story), Winnie the Pooh and Barney too.
Every day you are growing and asserting your independence. At first it's just going up and down some steps or carrying a plate of food by yourself. And your 18th birthday, to us seems so close, yet you havent even attended your first day of school. There is no pause button as we have wished for.
You are the greatest thing we can share with the world. Your mom and I love you more than you could ever imagine. xoxoxox
Love, Daddy
aka Matt
