Kevin's visit

Skyler's Uncle Kevin, my brother, came to spend a few days with us before going to LA for Christmas! It was raining most of the time but we still had a great time. We went to the
Exploritorium and Skyler loved running around showing Kevin all of the great science exhibits. We went to a shopping at the mall, which doesn't sound like that much fun but we had to get out of the rain so we went to Stonestown and let Sky run (and Kevin chase him) and ended up having a great time.

We went to Chevy's for lunch and Kevin gave each of us (Mom, Matt, Skyler & myself) hand-made books that he made with stories and pictures of things that happened over the years. He made these books of "how cool we are" and what he loved about each of us complete with hand drawn depictions of each scene (dancing to music in our living room when we were kids, sitting on a beach with dad when he started crying because John Lennon had died) all beautifully hand bound in textured paper. They are amazing to read, some things that I didn't even remember until I read it, but that shaped Kevin's life and ours in different ways.

That night we had dinner at mom's house and we ordered from our favorite old style Italian restaurant Victor's (on Polk Street, by our old house) and sat around and ate & talked. It was wonderful. Of course Skyler was so enthralled by Kevin that all he wanted to do was play with him.

The next night we had dinner at our house and we ordered Indian food. Then Kevin and Skyler were off to run around the house together, playing in Skyler's room with his toys,
reading Skyler stories sitting in the rocking chair (see that cute picture!). It was so much fun having Kevin around! I miss him so much and I wish he lived closer so that he and Skyler could play and I could hang out with my "little" brother more often. But he doesn't so we'll just have to go to Florida and visit him - a good excuse to go to Disney World!
